RegisterStock is a gift registry service. RegisterStock.com is not a securities broker/dealer. We are a gift registry and data storage provider. All brokerage accounts and securities transactions will be handled by J.H. Darbie & Co. a member of the FINRA - SIPC - MSRB.
What does the RegisterStock.com service cost?
It costs $20 to buy the stock for someone and for us to send the individual a notification card of their gift, $15 if the stock amount is under $50. We also now offer the ability of funding someone else's account. This process is $5 and under depending on the amount.

Does the stock giver need a brokerage account?
The person buying the stock does not require a brokerage account. They will need to develop a membership account with RegisterStock.
Does the stock receiver need a brokerage account?
The stock receiver needs to open a brokerage account. This costs no money, and no minimum amount of money is required to be an account owner. By opening a registry, the gift receiver automatically will be sent to open a brokerage account with JH Darbie & Co., making this the simplest account they will ever open. We are geared for people of all ages and experience, from those with little to no stock education to professional investors and managers.
What is the required minimum for my account?
There is no minimum for am account. Another great feature of our service is that it costs absolutely no money for someone to open a brokerage account.
Can traditional brokers provide the services that RegisterStock.com provides?
No traditional brokerages can do what we do at our minimal cost. We do all the work for you by contacting the potential gift recipient for all necessary information, and provide the gift in a beautiful presentation.
What is a custodian or a custodial account?
Anyone under the age of 18 or 21 (depending on your state) requires a custodial account, which is a parent or guardian to sign off on the account. Law requires it, and every brokerage firm has the same rules. Due to our major interest in young adults and children to receive gifts of stock, and therefore open accounts with us, we make this process very easy, and encourage children of all ages to open custodial accounts as young as possible. It's never too early to start investing for the future, not to mention the education and fun that RegisterStock.com will bring.
What options are available if the gift receivers want to close their account?
It is very easy to close an account through us. Our brokerage firm, JH Darbie will take care of what is required to close the account; there may be a small fee.
What options are available if the gift receivers want to transfer their account to another brokerage account?
Our brokerage firm, JH Darbie will take care of what is required to do any and all transfers.
Is my information safe and secure when I enter it on the RegisterStock.com website?
All sensitive information (credit cards and social security numbers) are transmitted in encrypted form using the industry standard - SSL. After the information is received, it is removed from the server. This increases security by making it impossible for a hacker to acquire the information. It is simply not available for the attacker to get.
If I want to give money to someone's account as a gift, so that they can pick the stock of their choice, what is the cost of putting money into his or her account?
For the same service we offer for stock gifts, we also offer you the ability to put cash into someone's account. This would be done, when the gift giver is not sure of which stock to buy, or wants the gift receiver to collect money in the account for a bigger future purchase. The cost of this is only $5 or $10 depending on the amount, and comes with our unique gift presentation.
Is paying by credit card secure over the Internet?
Yes, all credit cards are transmitted in encrypted form and store offline as a security precaution.
What type of credit cards does RegisterStock.com accept?
We accept Visa and MasterCard.
Can the gift receiver get the actual stock certificates sent to them?
If the gift receiver would like the stock certificate sent to him, they may do so after they receive their gift. Our brokerage firm, JH Darbie will take care of what is required; there may be a small fee.
How can a registered gift receiver change their stock registry?
You can go to My Account and you can do any changes and additions to your registry.
When giving a gift to a registered person, can the gift giver make his or her own choice on the specific stock?
Sure, the stocks that are in the person's registry are the ones that they are requesting but you are free to give any stock that you like.
Once I have received gifts how can I do more trading?
By following the instructions on their personal RegisterStock.com account, we will link them up with J.H. Darbie's website, where trades could be made as frequent as needed.
